The Pompadour

Three Rosettes - 2013-2019
Scottish Hotel Awards 2019 - Fine Dining Restaurant Hotel of the Year
Scottish Food Awards 2018 - Fine Dining Chef of the Year - Dan Ashmore

Since opening its doors in 1925, The Pompadour has gained a reputation as one of the capitals most magnificent dining rooms. Known for stunning views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street, The Pompadour takes its name from the celebrated Madame de Pompadour. The 'favourite mistress' of King Louis XV of France. Our exquisite hand-painted wall panels pay homage to the private room of Madame de Pompadour at the Palace at Versailles.

Our award-winning Head Chef Dan Ashmore brings his creativity and passion to each dish and works with the best available local produce. Delight in the à la carte or a 7-course surprise tasting menu featuring the highest quality British ingredients, made with chef's creative flair. To compliment the dishes, our highly experienced sommelier has selected a collection of fine wines as well as unique signature cocktails.
