Destination Guide

Set in the idyllic American destination of the Florida Keys, Casa Marina has much to explore and do.

A collection of islands just south of Miami, the Florida Keys divides the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico.  The Keys, first charted by Juan Ponce de Leon, became prosperous via the practice of wrecking - trawling shipwrecks for treasures in the pirate-infested waters.

Nowadays, relics of that old wealthy time remain, in buildings such as the Curry Mansion, which once housed Florida Keys' first self-made millionaire. Once linked to the mainland by the pioneering overseas railroad designed by Henry Flagler, the Keys are now the ideal place to experience beachfront, barefoot luxury.

Experience the diverse gourmet dining scene of the area. From the award-winning Salute restaurant, which specializes in a taste of the Mediterranean, to the serene Japanese atmosphere of Ambrosia - there is a taste for every palate.

Pick up treasures in one of the many high-end boutiques scattered around the island. Treat yourself to luxury leather goods at Coach or buy beach basics at Banana Republic. Commemorate the occasion with a purchase from Diamonds International, or stock up on beach reads at the Key West Island Book Store.
